February 2, 2010 - NUVO TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES NEW MUSIC PORT SERVER
Hebron, KY – NuVo Technologies, the value leader in whole home audio, has started accepting orders for its new Music Port Server. This latest innovation consolidates digital audio content from different networked computers in the home into a single, easy to navigate library, whilst also offering the capability to stream audio from online sources into a home’s multi-room system.
“The Music Port Server is a significant new addition to the NuVo Technologies’ whole home audio eco-system” says Chief Technical Officer, Rick Kukulies. “In an age when many homeowners and their families are seeking to access digital content from a variety of disparate sources, this exciting product provides a streamlined approach to music, bringing choice, convenience and better control within everybody’s reach”.
The Music Port Server aggregates, organizes, stores and distributes digital audio content (MP3, M4A, WMA and WAV) whilst making it much easier to enjoy music throughout the house. It auto-synchronises audio content from selected PC’s in the home and brings them into one comprehensive and seamless library.
With its internal 320GB hard drive, the Music Port Server can store literally tens of thousands of tracks. It also enables the streaming of music directly into a home’s audio system from over 100,000 Internet Radio stations through the use of RadioTime and other online services. The unit features four independent stereo RCA audio outputs, allowing it to stream audio content and stored music files as up to four sources for NuVo’s Grand Concerto, Renovia or Essentia E6G whole home audio systems..
Installation is a simple process. The Music Port Server is a single-rack space unit connected over CAT5 to the NuVo system using the NuVoNet communication protocol and, via the unit’s RJ45 Ethernet port, onto the home network. Dealers simply open up the Music Port Server’s Remote Configuration Tool to set up the unit.
Once the Music Port Server is installed and configured, digital audio content, complete with full metadata display, can then be browsed and accessed through NuVo’s in-wall and wireless Control Pads. Or, for the utmost in user experience, NuVo’s recently launched Colour Touch Pad (compatible with NuVo’s Grand Concerto and Renovia systems) can bring additional control advantages, such as, Album Art display and the customisation of personal presets through RadioTimes’ 100,000+ stations.
The Music Port Server can also be controlled using one of the home PC’s on the network. The unit’s RS232 connection allows any network-connected computer’s web browser control over audio zones, source selection and music library access through an attractive and intuitive client interface. Serial control commands can also be sent to the NuVo system from a third party home automation system, such as, AMX or Crestron.
NuVo will be supporting the launch of the Music Port Server with free dealer training on Friday 5th February immediately following the ISE show in Amsterdam. A half-day course will be on offer for the Music Port Server and the Colour Touch Pad, as well as Renovia (afternoon session).
